so i drew this a couple of months ago. only the girl thing in the middle.
and i decided to finally add a background. i hate backgrounds with a passion. i drew trees for the background. with charcoal. then i came home and decided to use a wet paintbrush and paint water down the charcoal. i found a little mistake that i just HAD to rub out. i rubbed it out. and then the paper started peeling off.  i liked it.  so i did more. then this happened.  wow very cool! and i agree backgrounds suck, but for someone who dislikes them you sure as hell pulled it off!

 Excellent composition using red and black, coupled with vertical drapery patterns throughout the background and the foreground. These vertical patterns are important in that it establishes a common identity for both the black wall and the girl clad in red.
The brighter bottom also contrast well with the darker top. It adds more interest and activity -- is this girl standing right in front of a bright bonfire? (Such was my initial thought.) i'm not sure if she's standing ing front of a bright bonfire.
